TL;DR

Gabay is an AI-first guided-placement concept that makes overseas recruitment more transparent for workers and more efficient for agencies—without removing the human specialists who make high-stakes calls.

PROBLEM

Traditional agencies profit from friction. Gabay is built to remove it.

Imagine Maria, a nurse from Cebu, offered a hospital role in Riyadh—on the condition that she pays three months of salary upfront before even boarding a flight. She cannot tell whether the fee is normal, legal, or avoidable. The agency is her only source of information, so she pays.

This is bigger than one bad agency. Recruitment processes can be slow and opaque, creating an information gap that makes it difficult for workers to understand their options, requirements, and rights.

SOLUTION

Same worker. A different kind of agency.

From the moment a worker uploads a résumé and passport, Gabay builds a case: a clear checklist, relevant requirements, transparent fees, and a timeline that updates as each step is completed.

The goal is to replace paper-chasing and unclear handoffs with a recruitment experience that competes on speed and clarity—not on withholding information.

Traditional agencies profit from friction.
We profit from removing it.
THE AGENTS

AI handles coordination. People handle judgment.

Representative agent

The worker’s primary coordinator.

  • Matches workers with verified opportunities
  • Explains recommendations transparently
  • Guides each milestone and flags missing requirements
  • Keeps workers proactively updated
  • Escalates complex cases to a human specialist

Compliance agent

A specialized protector agent.

  • Verifies employer offers
  • Detects contract discrepancies and hidden costs
  • Explains potential risks
  • Escalates complex cases for human review
KEY PRIORITIES

Designing the system around the work that matters.

1

Target administrative inefficiency

Reduce the document collection, repetitive questions, and manual tracking that take recruiters away from supporting people.

2

Reduce information asymmetry

Give every worker a guide that explains recommendations, clarifies requirements, and tracks progress.

3

Keep humans where they matter

Let AI coordinate routine work while human specialists provide oversight and make important final decisions.

WHAT CHANGES

More guidance, clearer decisions, human support when needed.

OUTCOME

A focused concept, built and shipped in a day.

Gabay placed 2nd overall at OpenAI’s Global Build Week Manila, among 250+ participants and 60+ products. The project demonstrated how an AI-first workflow can make recruitment more transparent without treating human expertise as an afterthought.

The next step is validating the assumptions with OFWs, ethical recruiters, and advocates—especially around fees, compliance, and the moments where escalation to a person matters most.
